Affordable (even free) Museum Hopping

I think museums are amazing in kids’ education.  But, nowadays, admission tickets are getting really expensive.  While planning a trip to NYC and tinkering with which museums to visit (within our budget), I found this great blog that said a lot of popular museums in NYC have “suggested” admission fees.  This actually means admission fees are donations and you can price your own admissions.  So, I decided to start a list of blogs and links for affordable museum hopping options.  So here you go:

New York City

It turns out a lot of museums in NYC charge admission fees as donations.

Washington, DC

Many of Washington, DC’s major attractions are open to the public and do not require tickets, including the Smithsonian museums, the Smithsonian National Zoo, the National Gallery of Art, and the national monuments and memorials.
